Saif Ali Khan and Vivek almost arrested May 29, 2009

Story goes that Saif Ali Khan And Vivek Oberoi were shooting for a scene in a hilly region in New York for D’Silva’s flick Qurbaan. As per the scene, the two actors were required to drive hastily. Unable to capture a perfect shot, the duo, much to the annoyance of the locals, gave umpteen shots to get the sequence right. Saif Ali Khan with Vivek Oberoi in tow landed in trouble with some policemen. The two actors were almost arrested by officials who had no clue about the actors’ identity.

Despite the two actors repeatedly told the cops that they were actors from India and were shooting for a film, the cops refused to believe them. And it was only after the intervention by the production crew that the cops let go of the two actors.

Confirming the incident, a news daily quoted a source as saying, “Even though the production team saw what was happening on their monitors, and one of them immediately rushed to help, it took him a good 10 minutes before he could reach the actors. By then, the cops had almost arrested them on suspicion and were all set to take them to the police station. However, the unit member rescued the actors in the nick of time. The cops only let them go after all the necessary documents were shown”.

Saif-Deepika completes promotional song May 27, 2009

Love Aaj Kal is on the verge of completion and what was only left was the promotional song which has been completed recently. The song has been picturized on the lead couple, Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan in Mumbai and turned out really well.

Though it was being suggested that the shooting of Saif Ali Khan‘s film was complete, that was not the case as one promotional song was to be shot.

As per sources, the promotional song was completed during a start to finish four-day schedule from 21st to 24th May, at a set erected in Bombay’s Mehboob Studios and the film will now move into post production pretty soon.

LOVE AAJ KAL, talks about how romance was during yesteryears and how it is today, with Saif and Deepika’s story taking the centre stage. In fact, the film is an interesting amalgamation and superimposition of the two eras!

Well, for long we were guessing and then we were given a tentative title to put our minds on. We got fond of even the tentative name when from nowhere its makers tended to alter it.

This could pose a massive menace. That’s exactly what is being transpired to the heavily publicized terrorism thriller JEHAAD. QURBAAN is rumoured to be the new name for the flick, while Karan and
Rensil are planning to call a press conference to correct the media perception about the film’s title. Reason?

They did not wish to put off the western audiences by calling the film JEHAAD which is the Islamic term for Holy War.

The film stars Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, who have attempted hard to push forward JEHAAD as the title, insisting on calling it the same in all their press interviews, when it was not even the official title. But producer Karan Johar and D’Silva are being cautious and have decided against naming the film JEHAAD. With the film already being looked at with some inquisitiveness and interest in the global market, the makers did not want to send out the wrong signals at Cannes film festival.

According to the latest reports, the film has a taut script and is without songs, dances and melodrama. Though it will take some time for JEHAAD to get out of the public’s minds, hoping that the new name
ushers in greater global support.

Well, Karan Johar is known for making films for NRI audiences, thus he makes feel good films far away from reality back at home. This goes in sync with his ideology.

Saif-Aamir opposite Kate Winslet or Rachel Weisz May 20, 2009

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan or Saif Ali Khan will get to act with British actresses Kate Winslet or Rachel Weisz. Director Pan Nalin wants either Aamir or Saif to play a lunatic in a mental asylum in his next film, a screen adaptation of Pakistani writer Saadat Hasan Manto’s short story ‘Toba Tek Singh’. And actresses like Rachel Weisz or Kate Winslet are being considered to essay the role of female protagonist.

Pan currently is in Cannes for the screening of his short film on global warming. It tells the tale of a mental patient Bishan Singh, who belongs to the town of Toba Tek Singh. After the 1947 partition, when the governments of India and Pakistan decide to exchange their Muslim, Sikh and Hindu lunatics, the drama that unravels forms the base of the story. It’s a powerful satire.

Either Kate or Rachel will probably play the character of Dr. Sophie who visits the asylum to divide the mental patients. Pan Nalin will soon talk to both the ladies as soon as he is back from Cannes. He thinks either of them can do full justice to the role.

Reports convey that Aamir has gone through the script and has liked it too much, but the busy actor hasn’t given any dates for it yet. And if Aamir is too busy to do this film, Pan is not worried because he feels Saif Ali Khan can play the role as well as Aamir can. So it depends upon the availability of the actors when the movie goes on the floors this August. And according to recent buzz, Irrfan Khan might also end up with a role in the flick.

Pan Nalin is a self-taught maverick Indian director whose first film ‘Samsara’ was a critically acclaimed and commercially successful movie. Let’s see which actor gonna win the chance. Good luck Saif!!!

Saif Does Penance for His Actions? May 18, 2009

He hails from a ‘Royal’ lineage and started his career as an Aashiq Aawara, and later on went onto become such a heart-throb actor and a sought-after style-icons that the country has ever produced.

Even though he initially made news for the wrong reasons pertaining to his troubled marriage with Amrita Singh, Saif is now a happy man these days with the love of his life Kareena Kapoor by his side, a production house and many a film and endorsement offers in hand. But the scene and the situation was just not the same a few years ago, when Saif made headlines after his car hit a 13-year-old boy who suffered minor injuries.

Unlike many heartless beings who leave the victim and run away, Saif immediately rushed the teenager straight to hospital and also paid for his treatment. Saif later got released on bail after being charged for causing injury by negligent driving.

Saif Ali Khan is royalty, living life king size. Each of his four releases had him stretching his range as an actor. Like his lady love Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan is following the ancient and scientific method of yoga to get lean for his role in Agent Vinod.

Saif Ali Khan is indeed a nawab. How else would he owe a heft seven-digit bill to his personal trainer Satyajit Chaurasia? The actor is currently training and shaping up for his upcoming film ‘Agent Vinod’ opposite real-life girlfriend Kareena Kapoor.

Doing 50 Surya Namaskars is a cakewalk for him, and that provides his entire body with a cardiovascular workout. Saif Ali Khan likes all kinds of asanas.

The actor hired trainer Satyajit Chaurasia to get into fab shape, which is a demand of the script. After only two and a half months of training and a large unpaid bill, Chaurasia decided to stop training Saif until the outstanding is cleared.

However sources close to Saif say that the actor had in fact stopped sessions with his trainer after a mere two workouts and instead joined another gym.

Saif Ali Khan is royalty, living life king size. News is in the air that the bollywood Nawab Khan is the new love guru. It’s being said that the star gave some tips to a photographer on how to ask out the girl he loves for a date. It seems Chote Nawab loves playing cupid.

According to the reports, a photographer, who was working with the shooting team, was in love with a girl but was not able to work it out. Saif Ali Khan suggested some really cool dialogues from Love Aaj Kal to him.

When Saif came to know about this, he moved forward to help the photographer, so he could express his feelings to the girl.

Saif, who plays Jai in the film, taught him a few lines from a particular scene, which he was enacting that day with Deepika Padukone, who plays Meera. Saif always has his ladylove Kareena Kapoor by his side, and now he’s used his experience to help a guy win the love of a girl.

No wonder Kareena is still fida over Saif !!!!

Love Aaj Kal, is director Imtiaz Ali’s much awaited release after his hugely successful Jab We Met starring Kareena Kapoor and Shahid
Kapoor.The Film stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukoue, Rishi Kapoor and Rahul Khanna.

Saif and Deepika are paired together for the very first time. Says a source “Saif and Deepika are looking fabulous together… the chemistry they share is unbelievable!!. Though producers have tired their best to keep the film under wraps, the film has already generated a strong buzz.”

Love Aaj Kal is set in a novel way.It will project relationships in three phases and in a language that will have universal appeal.

Saif Updates Himself on Terrorism May 8, 2009

Saif plays a gentleman Jehadi in director Rensil D’Silva’s film.The
film will have Saif Ali Khan playing a fundamentalist and a covert jehadi who dresses gracefully in Armani suits and hence is difficult to suspect or catch.

Working in Karan Johar’s home production, tentatively titled Jihad , has been an eye-opening experience for Saif, who’s been reading Islamic literature and the holy book to prepare for his role. He’s
also been enhancing his knowledge of the world’s political affairs, particularly related to the US and the Muslim world.

And researching for the role revealed several unexpected facts to Saif, as he claims.

Firstly, Saif says the most important thing he learnt was that theword ‘Allah’ doesn’t mean a Muslim God, but is rather the Arab word for ‘one true God’.

Saif’s observation couldn’t have been more correct. For even Muslim scholars like Mehru Jaffer feel that the word Allah shares common root with words used for the ‘Almighty’ in the Middle East for thousands of years – for example, the word for the ancient Canaanites was Elat, in
Aramaic it was Alaha, and in Hebrew it was Elohim.

The second thing that Saif has learnt about is the anger of the Muslim world towards the American foreign policy.

“My character in Rensil’s film has become the way he has because of the way Americans have treated Afghanistan and other Islamic states,” Saif is quoted as saying in a media report.

The movie, also starring Kareena Kapoor , has Vivek Oberoi playing amoderate Muslim who doesn’t believe in waging a jehad to get justice.
